Dr. David Onions Invitrogen Promotes Chief Medical Officer Invitrogen, Carlsbad, Calif., a provider of essential life-sciences technologies for disease research, drug discovery, and commercial bioproduction, has promoted David Onions, Ph.D., to the newly created position of chief medical officer. He is responsible for guiding the company’s scientific efforts as Invitrogen moves into areas more closely associated with medical research and patients, such as stem-cell technologies, diagnostics support, and other clinical studies.
