The American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) has relaunched its interactive job board, the AAPS Online Career Center, which focuses on pharmaceutical companies and academic positions. The AAPS Online Career Center offers an easy-to-use, highly targeted resource for online employment connections. The service is open to postings and submissions from the United States and abroad. “We’re very excited about the new AAPS Online Career Center, because we know how critical it is for employers to attract first-rate talent with a minimum expenditure of time and resources," says John Lisack Jr., AAPS executive director. Both members and nonmembers can use the AAPS Online Career Center to reach qualified candidates. Employers can post jobs online, search for qualified candidates based on specific criteria, and create an online resume agent to e-mail qualified candidates daily. They also benefit from online reporting that provides job activity statistics. For job seekers, the AAPS Online Career Center provides free access to employers and job opportunities across the pharmaceutical sciences. In addition to posting their resumes, job seekers can browse and view available jobs based on their criteria, save those jobs for later review, and create a search agent to provide real-time e-mail notifications. Our members truly value this service as a benefit of association membership, says John Lisack Jr. QuestaWeb has added an automated excise movement and control system (EMCS) module to its suite of global trade management (GTM) solutions. The EMCS module is QuestaWeb suite’s second European Union (EU) software component, following its EU Intrastat module. The EMCS component gives both member states and businesses the capability to monitor all movements of excise goods in duty suspension within the EU, while the Intrastat module automates required data reporting on the movement of goods between EU member states. The EMCS module also allows transmission and validation of the electronic accompanying administrative document (e-AAD) via an extensible markup language (XML) channel. QuestaWeb CEO Leon Turetsky says the addition of the two EU modules to its suite of multinational trade solutions is another critical step in the company’s business expansion efforts and goal of penetrating international markets. “By offering advanced GTM solutions designed specifically for the EU marketplace, QuestaWeb recognizes both the prominence of the EU in global trade and the inherent flexibility of our software," Mr. Turetsky says. “Our technology can automate cross-border trade processes virtually anywhere in the world and combine transactions with rich content, helping supply chain parties move goods in a rapid, secure, and compliant manner." By offering advanced GTM solutions designed specifically for the EU marketplace, we recognize the prominence of the EU in global trade, says Leon Turetsky. PricewaterhouseCoopers’ Health Industries practice has launched a new Web site to serve as a central point of access for the company’s latest insights and analyses on the implications of health reform for healthcare providers, employers, and life-sciences companies in the United States. “Embedded within the Health Care and Education Affordability Reconciliation Act of 2010 is a blueprint for a new health system," notes Kelly Barnes, U.S. health industries leader, PricewaterhouseCoopers. “The implications of this comprehensive law — including new taxes, regulations, and administrative deadlines — present opportunities and challenges that will affect each of the sectors in the health industries in different ways." Features of the Web site, pwc.com/healthreform, include up-to-date analysis of health industry sector implications and tax changes; Webcasts exploring key provisions of health reform, including new care models, accompanying reimbursement changes, and health IT; a guide to PricewaterhouseCoopers’ health reform industry specialists; and links to additional thought leadership and perspectives on the changing health system. The site is regularly updated with new insight and sector summaries offering deeper analysis and cross-sector implications, as well as announcements of upcoming events. Health executives have to act quickly to plan for the changes ahead and position their organizations for the post-reform world, says Kelly Barnes.
