Mr. Higgins, 48, is replacing Rolf Classon, 58, who is retiring at the end of this month after 13 years of service with Bayer. Taub Roche Appoints VP, Research, Metabolic Diseases Roche, the U.S. pharmaceutical affiliate of F. Feigal Jr. has left the Food and Drug Administration after a successful and productive tenure in various senior positions, most recently as the director of Center for Devices and Radiological Health (CDRH). He has left to continue his distinguished career in the medical community in Phoenix. Since being named director, CDRH, in 1999, Dr. Feigal has worked with Congress and industry to launch a medical device user fee program that has laid the groundwork for CDRH’s product approval program in the years to come. Throughout his FDA service, Dr. Feigal has maintained an active interest in world health affairs by representing the agency as a steering committee member for the Global Program on AIDS, the International Conferences on Harmonization, and the Tripartite Meetings.
